Previous Episode SKILLS Talk – Episode 12 “GET THE BEST HAIRSTYLE BY YOURSELF”
In this episode, our Senior Barber @barber.mo talks all about the different types of Beard Style, how to choose a suitable beard for you, and what are the struggles in growing your beard.
The Beard is considered as the main icon for the Men Style and if you have it that, then it means you look more fashionable, classy and you have something not everyone can have that easy, and also it adds to your personality your special signature.
The Process to Achieve your desired Beard Style
First is check the thickness of your beard and compare it to the beard style that you desire, considering the color, the texture, length, and the face structure because all of this are factors that are going to help you to decide if the beard that you chose matches to what you plan or if you need to find another style that can give the best look on you. And also, it is very important to have a proper Artist to advise and guide you on how to shape your beard, or else you are just wasting your time before you even begin.
Consultation is very important to know if the ideal beard that you desire is suitable for you
The Struggle of Growing/Maintaining your Beard
1st Struggle – Beard Itchiness: It is expected that you will feel a lot of itchiness in the first few weeks/months because your skin is trying to adapt to the new changes and your pores are open all the time.
Solution – Use a proper moisturizer or beard balm for your maintenance, it will not go completely but it will make it more manageable.
Beard Itchiness is the most common struggle for people who are planning to grow their beards.
2nd Struggle – Beard Roughness: The beard texture is quite different than our hair texture. The beard hair is rougher and it could take 1-3 months before it becomes soft, this is the most common reason that a lot of people give up on growing their beard.
Solution – Use a proper beard brush and make sure that you brush your beard often, this will help your beard texture to be a lot smoother and will give you comfort while you are growing your beard to your desired style.
It is very important to have a Beard Brush if you are planning for a Thick Beard Style
3rd Struggle – Smell, Dead Skin, and Hair Ingrown: This is caused by people who usually wash their beard without properly drying their beard which causes the smell, Dead skin is caused by not using the proper cleaning agent for your Beard and the Ingrown is caused when the dead skin cells clog hair follicles, forcing the hair to grow at a different angle under your skin.
Solution – Use a proper Beard Shampoo and not the same Hair Shampoo when washing your beard, also properly drying your beard always and not leaving it wet.
Washing your Beard with a proper Beard Shampoo is one of the most important steps in Maintaining your Beard.
4th Struggle – Beard Doesn’t Look Good 24/7: The main problem why people struggle on this is because since the beginning they were advised wrongly by their Barber thus once the beard is grown, they provide an alternate solution to match the ideal beard that they desire, whether by coloring, straightening, or any chemical procedure to achieve the desired shape and texture.
Solution – Before you plan something, always have a Consultation with a professional and experienced stylist so that you don’t waste your time and get the ideal style suitable for you.
A Great Beard comes a long way, but it is always worth it at the end.
That’s it for this episode! I hope you guys learned a lot especially for the people who are planning to grow their beards and change their style. Leave a comment if you have any questions that I was not able to cover and I will see you all next week.

Previous Episode SKILLS Talk – Episode 11 “MUST-HAVE GROOMING PRODUCTS IF YOU ARE STAYING IN DUBAI”
SKILLS Talk – Episode 12 “GET THE BEST HAIRSTYLE BY YOURSELF”
In this episode, our Senior Barber @barber.mo talks about some tips and advice on how to get the best hairstyle by yourself.
Tip #1. NEVER neglect your hair wash – The hair wash is the MAIN KEY in achieving the best hairstyle. Your hair like your skin is made with a special type of protein called “Keratin” that is found in your hair fiber, when the hair fiber gets dry your hair will always go to the direction of your hair growth and you will only able to control it if the hair is wet. That’s why whenever you wash your hair with the proper shampoo and conditioner, the ingredients inside will make your hair more manageable and flexible when you begin your hairstyle.
Hairwash is the most important and the first initial step in achieving an easy hairstyle.
Tip #2. PROPER usage of the Hair Dryer – The main purpose of the Hair Dryer is to dry the hair out and at the same ironing the hair fiber while maintaining the proper direction for the hairstyle that you are trying to achieve or your hair can stay still. The Hair Dryer has a specific duration of use, so if you use it for too long it will cause burn or damage, and if you go for a short time you will achieve nothing or your hairstyle will only last you for a few hours, and that depends on the quality of the hairdryer, temperature and your hair thickness and texture. How do you find all that answer? Just ask your barber about all these specific details.
The Hair Dryer has a specific duration of use, so if you use it for too long it will cause burn or damage.
Tip #3. The TECHNIQUE of using the Brush – There are many different types of brush with different types of use. The most common brush which is the Rolling brush, and as small as its size that will produce a sleek hair finish, and if the size is bigger that means you are increasing the puff. The puff is produced by the proper technique of the hairbrush along with the hairdryer. So if the direction that you like is against your hair mood then you have to make sure that you need to use the small rolling brush on the roots only with the short timing while your hairdryer is set in the highest temperature, that is the only way that you can control your hair against the natural direction. With the proper technique of the Brush and proper usage of the Hairdryer, you can achieve any hairstyle and you can direct your hair in any direction.
With the proper technique of the Brush and proper usage of the Hairdryer, you can achieve any hairstyle.
Tip #4. CHOOSE the Proper Hair Product for your Finishing – Make sure you use the proper hair product for yourself, if you are looking for a puffy hairstyle avoid using any hair product that will give you sleek finishing look like Pomade or Gel because it changes your hair fiber and it decreases the volume and there where you lose your puff. And if you are looking for a sleek hairstyle you need to make sure to avoid any Matte or Fiber because this will increase the puff in your hair and it is made only to increase the volume in your hair.
LEFT (Matte Finishing), RIGHT (Sleek Finishing)
If you want your hairstyle to last you long if you are going to any occasion, then make sure to use the Proper Hair Spray which is Matte or Shiny depending on your preference, because this will hold your hair longer than usual, and your hair will not be affected by sweat and will not allow your hair fiber to fight back to the way your original hair looks like because usually, the hairstyle will only survive 3 to 4 hours before it starts to fight back and make your hair mess.
Hairspray will add extra 4-8 hours of hold on your hairstyle.
Lastly, the most important thing is when you enjoy your hairstyle for the whole day you always need to wash it during the night or before your sleep because the hair product can leave a thick residue on your scalp if it’s not properly washed off, this can clog the pores of your scalp and cause hair follicle reduction. That it means your hair start to grow thinner, weaker, more brittle hairs – which can give an appearance of hair loss.
Washing your hair at the end of the day is the most important tip that you should never forget to avoid hair damage.
That’s it for this episode, I hope you guys learned a lot from this episode on how to style your hair by yourself, leave a comment if you have any question and we will see you all again next week.

There is a lot of different facial line targeting different skin condition and problems… One of the most common lines that we use is the Aquatherm for people who has sensitive skin and dehydration.
The main key ingredients of Aquatherm are from vegetable and plant extracts that’s why it is more suitable for sensitive skin. This will make the skin barrier stronger, restores the skins PH levels, reduces the sensitivity of the skin, and fights the early signs of aging. And also, we have the Hyaluronic, Power C, and Corrective treatment for our other facial line.
Here are some Tips and Advice on how to maintain your skin.
- Have a proper home care maintenance, like Cleanser, Toner, and Moisturizer, this is enough to get you through your daily skincare routine.
- Avoid bad habits like smoking, too much drinking, lack of sleep, not cleansing whenever you sweat, avoiding too much AC or staying outside in the hot weather, etc.
- Food helps in order to maintain your youth and healthy complexions like fruits and vegetables as part of your diet, and avoid fatty and oily foods that cause excess secretion on your face which helps to build up the blackheads and whiteheads on your pores.
- And last “Exercise” this will help you maintain a proper blood circulation at the same time helps you to reduce stress and mental fatigue which constitutes early signs of aging.

SKILLS Talk – Episode 8 “THINGS YOU DON’T KNOW ABOUT THE FOOT SPA”
In this episode, our Senior Barber @barber.mo along with our Nail Technician Ms. Dianne talks about the Foot Spa and why it’s important. Ms. Dianne spoke about 3 important benefits that you should know about doing your foot spa.
The first thing is you will have your feet more clean and neat because of the nail care process, and things that you don’t usually do when you do it by yourself like filing and cutting the cuticle.
She stressed that some factors that affect the bad smell on your foot are because of bacteria and germs through sweat that sticks on your sock or shoes, so that is why it is a must to do your foot spa if you are suffering from this problem.
The Main Benefit of Doing your Foot Spa is it revitalizes your feet.
The second thing is the foot scrubbing, which will result in removing the callouses and making your sole softer and cleaner. Calluses can cause significant discomfort in your feet, so preventing the growth of calluses will also prevent pain. Additionally, dry, cracked feet can be extremely painful, so regularly moisturizing the skin on your feet will prevent this type of discomfort from developing as well.
Foot scrubbing removes all the dead skin cells and callouses.
The third benefit is the reflexology massage which reduced stress and anxiety, provides comfort and relaxation at the same time you will have a proper blood circulation all throughout your body. The thing about the reflexology massage is you can touch internal organs by just touching the sole of your foot.
Moving on to the tips and advice for your nail care.
- You should always have your own personal toolkit (Especially during this time).
- Eat foods rich in Biotin as it plays an important role in the health of your nails.
- Cut your nails regularly and don’t let it go too long to prevent any accumulation of germs.

Nail Care is for everyone, it doesn’t matter whether you are male or female as long as you want to look more presentable and hygienic, then yes you should always invest in having a proper regiment for your nails as you would have on your hair.
The difference between doing your nails at home and by a professional is that you only do 50% of the actual process and there is a lot of things that you neglect, most especially the filing and cutting the cuticle.
The difference between doing your nails at home and by a professional is that you only do 50% of the actual process.
The frequency of cutting your nail is usually every 2 weeks, on that time you will see that your nail is already looking unmanageable, if you are the type of person who wants to look sharp and clean at most of the time then every week is possible, as long as you don’t go less this is to avoid going too short and cutting your nail beds.
It is important that you cut your nail as often as possible because if not the germs buildup underneath your nails will cause you the have infections or the transfer of dirt from your nails to your mouth or hands.
You should always cut your nails every 2 weeks or a minimum once a week if you are the type of person who wants to look neater.

Previous Episode SKILLS Talk – Episode 5 “AVOID PROBLEMS ON YOUR NEXT BEARD SHAVE”
SKILLS Talk – Episode 6 “THESE BAD HABITS ARE DAMAGING YOUR HAIR”
In this episode, our Senior Barber @barber.mo talks about some of the most common bad habits that people do that are damaging their hair.
1. Using Commercial Shampoo over Chemical-free Shampoo
You should always avoid using a shampoo that has both Sulfates and Parabens because they strip your hair of its natural oils, making it dry and brittle. Instead, use natural shampoos that are made with natural plant oils and herb extracts, most commonly that has coconut oil, jojoba oil, argan oil, and Also don’t forget to use Conditioner because the shampoo alone is not enough.
Your hair gets dry when you use shampoos that have harmful chemical ingredients such as Parabens and Sulfates
2. Doing your Blowdrying near to the scalp
Holding the dryer too close for too long can literally fry the hair and burn the scalp, potentially causing permanent damage to the hair follicles resulting in hair loss and bald patches.
Never blowdry too near your scalp and brush your hair too rough with the brush.
3. Sleeping with Hair Product on your Hair
Products can leave a thick residue on your scalp if it’s not properly washed off, this can clog the pores of your scalp and cause hair follicle reduction. That it means your hair start to grow thinner, weaker, more brittle hairs – which can give an appearance of hair loss.
Hair Products can clog your pores if not washed properly before you sleep.
4. Drying your hair forcefully with the towel
Using a towel is not generally bad but just rubbing your wet hair forcefully with a towel can lead to excessive hair breakage and hair fall. Its thick absorbent fibers when rubbed with the hair actually do more harm than good.
The hair can also become extremely frizzy as the towel ruffles up the cuticles of the hair. Moreover, the weight of the towel itself pulls down the hair, causing vulnerable strands to break.
Another Bad Habit is Drying your hair Roughly with the Towel.
5. Neglecting to moisturize your hair after swimming in the pool or beach.
Both the chlorine and saltwater dry out the hair and strip away its natural oil, making the hair drier and thin. That’s why it is very important to rinse your hair after your swim to wash out all the chlorine and bacteria that was soaked up by your strands to avoid further damage.
Always rinse your hair after you go swimming outdoors and apply moisturizer on your hair to avoid any further damage.
That’s it for this episode, make sure you avoid all these habits if you want your hair to last with you longer. See you on the next episode.
